Prague: A Clear Commitment to the World of Beauty & Spa!

Prague - This year's autumn event, which again took place at the Vystaviste fairground on September 14-15, 2007, brought a clear approval by the exhibitors of the format of the trade show "World of Beauty & Spa". 240 exhibitors with 350 well-known brands as well as about 20,000 visitors marked a further step on a steady growth chart. Thus, the dual events of the World of Beauty & Spa with two annual cosmetics trade shows of equal size - always in the spring and in the fall - by far form the most prominent market platform for the industry in the Czech Republic. The exhibitors share this view, as current opinions at the trade show indicate.

"This is our trade show, which we supply twice a year", says Emil Christoph, who holds the Czech general agency of Janssen Cosmeceutical and whose son is the exclusive representative of Tana Cosmetics for the Czech Republic. Martin Stepan, general manager of Beauty Servis and the general representative of the Italian hairstylist specialist BES, emphasizes the central location of Prague as a fair location, "because the capital with several million inhabitants in its direct catchment area is simply better." Roman Dvorak of the cosmetics manufacturer For Life & Madaga holds a similar view: "People come here from all over the country." A vote for the World of Beauty & Spa as clearly the strongest communication and contract hub in the Czech cosmetics fair market!

Coneta boss Petr Nemec started out twelve years ago with a Straub representation, now he has "about one thousand products in the area of manicure / pedicure" in his assortment. He appreciates the World of Beauty & Spa mainly as a meeting point for experts: Anything having to do with ordering, I have already sold. Of what I could sell directly, I still have eighty percent available." The Czech market for beauty and health is getting more and more professional, particularly with regards to service quality. This is clearly proven by the nomenclature of the World of Beauty & Spa in the areas of professional cosmetics, nails, foot care, hairstylists, solariums, and wellness. Present at the trade show were, among others: Alessandro, Arabesque, Artdeco, BES, Beauty Servis, Bioline, Dr. Spiller, Ergoline, Gehwol, Gerlach Technik, Gernetic, HappyNails, Hevea, Institute Esthederm, Janssen Cosmeceutical, Jenny Lane, Klapp, LCN, Macon, Malu Wilz, OPI, Payot, Peggy Sage, Reviderm, RVB, Ryor, Solingen, Sothys Paris, Straub, Tana, Thalaspa, Volmar, Young Nails, and Zepter.

This success is intrinsically tied to the name of Lenka Konecna, the director of the Prague organizer Beauty Expo, who has been organizing regular cosmetics trade shows in the Czech Republic since 1992 and who thus has a significant share in the development of the issue in the neighboring country to the east. Including best contacts to important domestic media outlets in the area of television and the print media - most importantly to the dominant NAVA Publishing House - as well as to leading associations such as the Cosmetics Union (the beautician's association) and PROKOS (the manufacturer's association). "Since we already had to introduce waiting lists this year, we will add another exhibition hall next year and then occupy the entire fairground with about 15,000 sqm. So it's a good thing that we already have contracts for the next three years", she says.

Another important success factor is the extensive supporting program of the World of Beauty & Spa on the large stage as well as in the lounge, which again offered continuous workshops as well as national and international championships in make-up and nail design, plus numerous other competitions as this year's special highlights. - The date of the next World of Beauty & Spa in the spring of next year is February 29 to March 1, 2008.
